Commercial Wind Restoration Services: Immediate Actions

Wind & Storm Damage
  • Look for damage to your electrical, sewage and water systems. If you see sparks, broken or frayed wires, or you smell hot insulation, turn off you power at the main fuse box or circuit breaker.

IMPORTANT: Do not step in standing water to get to the fuse box or circuit breaker. Call an electrician for advice.

  • If you suspect sewage lines are damaged, do not use your toilets and call a plumber.
  • If you see damaged water lines, call the water company and don’t use water from the tap. If you do not have bottled water to use in the interim, try melting ice cubes frozen before the storm.
  • Never use water from ponds, lakes, creeks, streams for drinking water. It can contain contaminants that are harmful to you, and to your property.

Hail & Ice Damage

  • Check to see if gutters are blocked by ice or hail, this is called an ice dam. If they are blocked, hose the gutters with room temperature tap water. Work upward from the lower edge of the dam. This is only a temporary solution. The channel will become ineffective within days.

Following these guidelines can control and minimize losses. Contacting a professional in the early stages of a disaster can save you time and money. Most insurance policies require you to mitigate a disaster and take steps to prevent further damage.

Wind Restoration

On August 22, 2008, Consolidated Second Baptist Church began the process of replacing their entire roof structure. The building was more than one hundred years old at the time and the pastor was concerned they might not be able to rebuild, given the structure damage and its age. Due to the height of the building APEX brought in a crane to complete the necessary work. APEX Restoration worked diligently to maintain the original design along with the mortise and tenon joints. The small town of Warsaw, Kentucky was very involved and offered much needed support during this project.
